Within IDEX, the Material Sciences Solution Group (MSS) operates as part of the Health & Science Technology (HST) segment, one of the company’s key growth engines. HST focuses on fast-evolving, innovation-driven markets and continues to grow through strategic investments and acquisitions. To remain agile and prepared for future growth, collaboration between European business units is being strengthened and processes are being streamlined.

What will you do?

IDEX is looking for a new colleague to join the European Finance team. In this role, you will work closely with global and regional controllers, FP&A, and external stakeholders, while supporting the MSS business units across Europe.

You will ensure a strong local control environment, oversee statutory reporting, manage compliance with tax and subsidy regulations, and drive process improvements across the organization.

Within IDEX, the Material Sciences Solution Group (MSS) operates within the Health & Science Technology (HST) segment — one of the company’s key growth engines. HST serves fast-growing, innovation-driven markets and continues to expand through strategic investments and acquisitions. To remain agile and ready for future growth, collaboration between European business units is being strengthened and processes are being streamlined.

This position offers excellent development opportunities, broad exposure across the organization, and the chance to contribute to strategic initiatives and ad-hoc projects. You will report to the VP Finance for Semicon and European Reporting.

Control Environment
📝 Lead the annual audit process for European MSS entities (e.g. the Muon group).
📄 Prepare consolidated statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with all filing requirements, including local CSRD/ESG regulations.
💰 Manage transfer pricing within the group.
🏛️ Prepare and coordinate corporate income tax filings for the Dutch fiscal unity of Muon, including specific rulings (such as the Innovation Box).
🎯 Lead European subsidy projects.
📊 Manage country-specific statistical filings and reporting.
💼 Coordinate operational matters related to insurance, treasury, and banking.
🔒 Maintain assigned internal/SOX controls and act as a guardian of internal control and governance.

Financial Processes, Business Optimization & Tools
⚙️ Establish best-in-class processes to improve operational effectiveness within the segment.
📈 Standardize reporting and increase consistency across business units.
🔄 Lead and continuously improve core finance processes, including budgeting, long-range planning (STRAP), forecasting, and management reporting.

Financial Reporting & Analysis
⏱️ Ensure timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including clear planning and communication routines. Achieve a “green” status on the Monthly Financial Reporting Scorecard.
📊 Regularly monitor KPIs and proactively address deviations.
🗂️ Lead the preparation, coordination, consolidation, review, and presentation of group reporting.
⚠️ Identify business and financial risks and opportunities to drive management action.
🧐 Promote strong analytical rigor and critically challenge root cause countermeasures (RCCM) to ensure high process quality.
📌 Define KPIs and dashboards to continuously improve performance and business insights.
✉️ Handle ad-hoc financial requests from business units and corporate management.

Leadership & Projects
👥 Coach and support finance teams within the European MSS companies.
📊 Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and participate in strategic initiatives at the request of IDEX or Muon management.
💸 Review Capital Investment Requests (CIRs) for financial return and analyze monthly spending.
🚀 Lead or participate in special projects across the platform and business units.
🎓 Attend relevant training courses, seminars, and workshops as required.

About you

🎓 Completed bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent).
💼 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance, preferably including audit experience.
✅ CPA or comparable qualification is preferred (e.g. Dutch RA/RC).
📊 Broad knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and Dutch GAAP).
🖥️ Experience with Hyperion and/or OneStream is a plus.
🚀 Self-starter with a strong results-driven mindset and a willingness to learn.
🧐 Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time pressure.
🗣️ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
🤝 Team player willing to support projects where needed.
✈️ Willingness to travel up to 20% within the Netherlands and the EU.
💻 Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
